cabela's poor customer service

Unfortunately Cabela"s ca kept most of the useless SIR staff! They advertised phoning to order guns not listed and then either wouldn't return calls or refused to help.PI$$ POOR for buisness................Harold ***Looking foreward to Outdoor World/Bass Pro north of Calgary opening in May ?
 
I've been watching the Cabelas takeover for a while since it's within walking distance at lunch. (not neccessarily a good thing)

The staff has not entirely been retained, they have more than 50% new staff and are constantly attempting to hire more because sales are way higher as the Cabelas brand generates more revenue. Also unemplyment here is still 4% so the help wanted sign is still hanging.

In person, you still wait in line to buy a gun as they have the take a number system in place.

Stock appears to be turning over very quickly, much faster than SIR did.

They never seem to have sales like the Cabelas US website, that really irks me. Very few in-store specials.
 
Was charged on Nov. 4.... email a week ago... phone call with message... another email... another phone call.... eventually got through yesterday - was still in the warehouse for some reason.

On the plus side, their system was good enough to find where it was in a minute on the phone, the other parts of the order shipped quick and if backordered no extra shipping charges (one order could be shipped in three parts, no extra shipping).

Found email responses excellent under SIR (same or next day), now they simply dont. Not the best but at least ship the right product for the price at the time it was bought (both unlike WSS). If local gun store carries the same product can always ask how close they can come, I've been pleasantly surprised a number of times.

Gotcha on that one......that is kind of annoying. Sounds as tho it WAS on the shipping table and then got bumped or moved and then forgotten. SIR was the bomb for prompt emails replies. Cabela's, meh not so much. My local gun store owner and i sat down one day and on some of his ammo, he was actually cheaper to buy thru him. I buy all my 9mm cause he actually IS cheaper then the big boys as his shipping and dangerous goods is already factored into the price. Other stuff, not so cheap. I think his 9mm ammo is the "draw in the store". I ALWAYS come out with more then my ammo
 
I requested a CATALOG by email in September, by phone in late October and by email again in November. If I can't even get a catalog sent to me, I'm not sure I want any part of trying to purchase merchandise from them. Ordered stuff from Bass Pro (US and Canada) - way easier.
 
Ordered , online , Nov. 13. At that time you could not get thru to a living human being by phone. Received the email confirmation.

Since then, haven't heard a word. Have done 3 emails (waited 10 days b4 the first one) and left 2 voice messages as per their instructions.

Yesterday a fraction of the order amount showed up on my cc. (appears thats the RCBS Chargemaster was the bait , no way its in the cc amount)Sent them an email (# 4) , and also forwarded it to US CS, detailing what has/hasn't happened to date. Also that if all items weren't received @ the ordered price Cabelas (everywhere) has got their last $ from me.

Also phoned about a Stevens 200 , 223 , couple months ago. Was told it was in stock but the price had gone from 299 (per website) to 379 because of the CDN $.

They can kiss mine
 
I ordered a coat for the old lady on Nov 27th. i called yesterday and they said that they hadn't shipped it yet. but they did not forget to charge me the 660$
 
placed an order on dec 5th. i have not had any email or phone call verification as to if and when my order will be sent out. ive left 2 messages with no reply.

im emailing them when i am done this message.

how do i go about canceling my order with them if i cant even communicate with anyone?
 
they've been good to me.course I don't phone at lunch time or coffee break so I get to talk to a real person.
they can't send catalogs they don't have,and that conspiracy isn't a theory.and it's not just them it's the whole friggin country.free trade my ass.

I'm with you on that one. I ordered some toys for my kids in late November. My son really wanted one of their adventure set's. The waterfowling one, with the truck, quad, boat and stuff.
Most of the stuff was in stock and we received it already but that one set was back ordered. I was told it was supposed to be in the 1st week of December. No prob, that lots of time. Well, I phoned yesterday and was told, the end of December. Great! Now my son will get an IOU letter from Santa explaining that his Elves screwed up ands it coming in the mail. I just won't say when cuz who the hell knows when it'll really be here.
To me it seems like the shipment got bumped for some other store.
 
just tried both the store and mailorder numbers and waited on hold for 10 mins before hanging up:mad: they havent even charged my CC yet so im guessing i wont have the package for another 10 months?:rolleyes:

how the hell can they run a business like this? 5 days later and i still have not heard a single thing?
 
I have place an online order 2 week's ago and they did'nt even send me an e-mail to confirm and my order is not in yet but they took the money from my credit card !
