Just wanted to express my pleasant dealings with this company, first time buying with them. Ordered a pair of Cabela's hunting boots and a few smaller things about 8 days ago, arrived yesterday - smooth as silk deal. With all the negative crap that gets aired on dealing with online stores I thought it would be good to report a good deal!

Cabela's has been excellent to deal with - however, this is not good news, as they have so many innovative items, and it is very tempting to spend a lot of bucks.

Do they have a mail order in Canada already?? Anybody know??

My buddy ordered quad ramps once and they came from Ontario. We were both surprised at that.

Any explanations??

I've used Cabela's a few times too and have always had good service. Buying stuff from them is more reasonable now that the dollar exchange rate is more favourable.

They are opening in Montreal as a mail order and retail store watch for it soon.

I just checked their website, it's true... opening in fall 2007 or early 2008.

So this means that in fall 2007 or early 2008, I'll be broke. :D

I remember riding my bike across the US about 20 years ago and stopping in the Kearney Nebraska store. It was a pilgrimage. The store in Dundee Michigan is pretty cool too.

I bought lots of hunting clothing (jackets, pants, shirts, socks, hats) from them around the same time. It was excellent quality, Gore-Tex (all my stuff has Made in the USA labels - when is the last time you saw that on clothing?), and because I have managed to stay trim and slim, I still use it every fall.

I have since ordered small items over the years and never had an issue. I'm a fan.

Have been dealing with Cabela's, LL Bean & Orvis for years. All are top drawer. Bean's is even one of the primary "case study" segments (customer service) in Harvard's MBA course curiculum.

The upcoming location near Montreal will be a 20 minute drive from my house. I suspect I will be there every weekend. :) I can't wait.

I bow down to you sir.

The closest one to me is 2 hrs away in Grand Forks.

One hour drive from me.... hehe. Once a month I go broke.

I'll only go there when I need something......... yeah, right!!!!

I made it into a family trip, although my wife missed a couple of times......

In a big store like that you can buy the "secret" stuff, pay and get it to your car and then come back to join the family _ oh they're still at the lions...... And the food is awesome too.....

Don't be gealous guys, It's the only perk I have for my location. (I also have to travel 100km for the closest range and 6 hours for a decent hunt.)

I vaguely recall Cabalas ships via UPS, which to me is a no deal.

I stopped buying from sellers in Canada or the US that deploy UPS.
