Remington 700 SPS Bolt Action Rifle is 599.99
Remington 700 SPS DM Bolt Action Rifle is 489.99

And the Scope, Rings, Bases and hard case are only wworth $10.00 more.

I should take another economics course . . .

They can sell them cheap because they probably bought 10,000 of each chain wide.

Cabela's does not take returns on guns. They have a huge sticker on the box that says no returns.

I am very happy with my SPS (bought from Del Selins), but I had a boyds thumbhole stock waiting for it before it arrived. I believe the SPS DM thay cabelas sells does not come with the X-mark trigger, according to their website. No QC issues with mine.

new rem rifles

Maybe they are made off shore now - like china or korea or maybe mexico or where ever - hell dodge ram trucks are all made in mexico - just cause they say made in the good old USA don't mean sh*t anymore- all those big corporations friggin LIE ! Remington used to be very good quality - my newer rem stuff is crap ! :puke: thats my opinion ! Jim

It seems that no one can post anything at all about Remington without a whole batch of slaggers jumping all over the place about the demise of Remington Quality.
I say enough already! Give it a rest, FSS!!
We've heard your diatribes 201 times already.
I'm betting that Big Green will be pulling up their socks right soon now and bringing back the great M700 that we know and love.
They still make a great platform to build on, and at Cabela's prices, you can afford the rifle for the action.
FWIW, a friend just bought a brand new SPS in 30-06 that shoots absolutely fabulous.
Regards, Eagleye.

I looked at that ad and it is cheaper because it is offered only in certain calibers like 30-06 and I assume it is because they want to move the product.

Never mind I just wished that Christmass wasn't just right around the cornor cuase the T/C combo sure looks sick!

When you find two in a row, then let us know.....

The 2 700's I own both shoot 1 1/4" or less, and would do better with a better trigger man. I may have fluked out but I laid down a 4 shot ragged hole with a 5th shot opening the group up to just under an inch(100yd) with my 7mm-08 last week.

I had guntech build a rifle around a 700 SPS youth model and the first groups at 200 metres were .6 and .7. Then he put a SPS barrel onto an old 700 action, and after seating the bullets loaded for the old barrel an 1/8th of an inch deeper, they shot under 2 inches at 200 metres.
I do not buy into "scrap 700's" diatribe. The comments of eagleye are appreciated.
Keep the derailing up and the thread should be cancelled!

You said to let you know, so...

I've owned 4. 1 sps I bought new, 1 MTN rifle I bought used, and 2 other Mtn rifles I bought new.

I've liked all 4. All shot at least 1.25 MOA at 100 yards, and usually better.

No issues, and no problems. I'd buy a Rem 700 again.

And my SPS was soaking wet a couple times after hunting in rain and snow/sleet. Never, ever rusted. But then again I put gun oil on it before hand, and cleaned it up when I got home.

The ones that have given me the most trouble with rust is the X-bolts I have. Even the Stainless one I have will get little spots on it far quicker than the "matte blued" SPS I had.

I sold that SPS so I could afford the Mtn LSS. I miss the sps. Really, I do. It was a gun I could take out in the rain or sleet, climb up a ridge, slip a few times, and not feel bad. And it never had an issue with that level of handling.

But I like the Mtn LSS even more, so I guess it was a good move.

I have owned or still own several Remington's. 243 youth, 260 mountain rifle, 300 ultra lss, 300 ultra sendero, and a 338 lm built on a 700. They have all been accurate guns and I have had no problems with them. I would buy a vanguard over a 700 but that is just preference. Nothing wrong with $450 for a sps package deal.
