Anyone use or know about Cactus Plains Bullets?

Just in Wholesale and saw them on the shelf, but I've never heard of them before.

They're cast and lubed bullets in 38-55, 45-70 and a few other flavors.

Xlnt bullets. Wholesale used to carry them here but not so much anymore. Too bad as they are some of the best around and he has a great variety of calibers/profiles.

I've used them in the 45-70. Loaded to around 1500 fps with IMR 4198, they shoot real well @ 100yrds. Loaded them on top of some Trail Boss and you have some fun plinking rounds that won't beat you up.
 
I've used thousands through my 10MMs and have a couple thousand more on hand. I load them pretty hot and have no significant issues with leading. WSS is pretty spotty with keeping stock (no surprise...) so I buy in bulk where I can.
 
If you are buying pre-cast for use in a 38-55 make sure that the bullet diameter is compatable with your bore dimensions. Cactus plains bullets (at least the ones I have used) are cast really hard--which is good in auto pistols, but not so good in low-pressure rifle rounds. If the bullet is too small for your barrel it will lead like crazy and accuracy will be likely not too good.

Thanks 44, my intention was to first get the bore measured and if the CP size worked go from there, if not then I would have to look at casting my own.
 
I am loading a Cactus Plains bullet in my 38-55. It is the 265 grain FP Plain Base bullet, sized to .379" [My groove diameter is .377", so about perfect]
These shoot best in my M94 Winchester at about 1400 fps [I use RL 7, but Norma 200 works well also] IMR 4198 works, but not as accurate.
I have had NO leading issues at all, and have driven them right up to 1700 FPS or so.
For low-velocity "plinking" the Trail Boss suggestion is great!

My Model 94 comes in about 1911 when I cross check the serial number. The bore is nice and shiny, but the lands are light.

I got it just over a month ago from a friend who wasn't using it anymore. Unfortunately it had languished for 20 odd years in his cabinet and it shows on the exterior.

After a visit to a local gun doctor for a checkup, I'm hoping to get her out and see what I can do with her.
