Hi All,

My Son is really enjoys marksmanship with our Local Army Cadet Corps. His percision has really increased over the past few months. Very Impressive results. Its a wonderfull program.

I was wondering if anyone one would know where a good place to purchase a Daisy 853 C Legend Air Rifle would be in Canada. Looking for a proper shooting jacket as well. Does not seem to be an easy thing to find.

Not sure if this should be posted in this forum, but just can't seem to find another area for the post.

Cheers...

For a jacket, w ww.centerthegroup.com.
Having his own rifle would allow for more practice. That would be excellent. The 853C air rifles are really quite accurate, and not all that expensive.

I like my 853c, it's how I shoot every single day.

I wore it out and had to replace all the seals, and have continued shooting with it.

The trigger is horrendous though, I recommend the pilkguns trigger job (it's instructions on their website, not something you buy) I did it on mine and never looked back.

centerthegroup has the correct cadet shooting jackets, gloves, hats and mats that are allowed under the current cadet air rifle rules. He also has the rifles.
My daughter came up through the air rifle program. She won the her zone championship 5 straight years with a 853C. Shot her way onto 2 cadet national teams with one, and shot 2 perfect targets at the cadet nationals a couple years ago. She is now running the air rifle program for a cadet corps. These rifles can shoot even with the herrendous trigger.

I wouldn't modify the practice rifle, as the DND owned rifle that's used for competition wouldn't be allowed to be modified. The trigger isn't too bad once you're used to it.

That's great your child is excelling at Cadets Marksmanship. We need more national shooting programs for youth. That Daisy can certianly be a trying animal to get to perform faithfully, plastic sights and that clunky trigger ugh! Keep your kid happy and away from the finer air rifles as they will perfer the Gran Prix car to the family van. So decide, do you want a $300 beater, or do you want to get a competition air rifle and encourage your child/athelete to persue shooting at the next level. Talk to Jocelyn at Canada Targets www.target.ca...smart guy seen it all, actually did write the book. Practice, practice, with the rifle your going to compete with and Best of luck trough Zones and Provincals.
