Cadex Chassis Systems: Post your pics, questions and answers here!

Ok guys I need some help. A few years ago I wanted to build a .338 rig so I went and bought a cadex chassis for a Remington 700 in .338LM (atleast that's what I think it is). I have never taken it out of the box and I want to confirm exactly what I have and what will fit in it. I'm also looking for advice on if I should buy a new 700 complete and drop it in the chassis or buy a barreled action. Thoughts? Advice?

Your chassis looks like the original Dual Strike model for Rem 700 338 Lapua. This chassis will fit any Rem 700 Police or XCR long range models in 338 Lapua. The top rail is drilled for #8 top rail screws. However it's pretty difficult for me to confirm what long action magazine style it will run.

Arguably one of the dumbest things I've ever purchased, lol! I have no business owning this rifle, but for some stupid reason, I had to have it.

I can't afford it either, my line of credit is crying and if the wife ever finds out about it, she will probably shoot me with it, lol!

Hahaha, just remember to start looking in my backyard for shallow graves if you see me offline for more than a few days.

I took these pics straight out of the box from PGW so I didn't mess with it at all. I did notice a bit of black residue between the chassis and the action:

I didn't know that PGW bedded these, but I guess so?
 
Thats cool they bedded it. always nice to see, Im thinking of bedding mine but not sure if it will improve accuracy enough to notice.

Next time im on the mainland we have to meet up so I can look at that beast.

For sure. I hear that the new Cadex actions are flat bottomed, giving more material to mate with the chassis, thus eliminating the need for bedding or rollers?

That said, I don't want to open a can of worms because there are folks who are adamant on bedding, and others that are not.

Yeah, definitely give me a shout the next time you're on the mainland. If you have the keys to Heals Range, I'll definitely bring it next time I'm on the island, haha!
 
Yeah I have a flat action :) No roller bedding in the Cadex CDX chassis. and its a freaking tight fit when I put it together so I would have to dremel out material to have room for bedding.
