Cadex Falcon or Falcon Lite Bipod?

So I have a Cadex CDX-TAC rifle on the way and I need a bipod for it.

I plan to use the rifle for PRS and sniper matches.

I took a quick look at Cadex bipods at the Meaford match but I suppose I should have taken a closer look at the time... My bad.... I lost interest when they offered to let me shoot the suppressed 50 cal.

So I'm wondering what you guys think?

The Cadex brand is real nice in general, but is there a clear preference to the Falcon over Falcon Lite?

Or would you suggest some other brand that is superior or more appropriate for PRS?

It's a total coin toss for me and I just cannot decide on my own without having them in my hand.

I have both and some others and they both have their advantages and disadvantages.

The lite is a lot lighter and slimmer which is nice for carrying. One thing that can be frustrating is when rotating the legs, you have to push a button and I find it often gets jammed. On the other hand, the falcon uses a button that you slide down to rotate the legs. I have found this to be reliable every time. Recoil wise, I remember asking if the lite could handle 338 lm and was told it could. It's had no problem with 6.5 cm.
 
I would go with an Atlas bipod.

Now having played with some Cadex gear I know it is quality stuff but I think an Atlas PSR or even a Harris would be a better choice for PRS matches.
 
You can make any decent bipod work for PRS-type stuff but the ones you'll see the most are (from least to most expensive) Harris (generally with a bunch of add-ons), Atlas and now the Ckye-pod is starting to be more and more common. No slight against Cadex, it seems all their stuff is very high quality but for the kind of scratch the Falcon costs, I'd be looking at. Ckye-pod. It does everything that a Harris or Atlas can do with all the add-ons, extensions, etc and does it in a better form factor without having to add anything. The guy who designed it is a very skilled shooter (both in PRS and field matches) and so far, it seems to be the closest to the perfect bipod for that kind of application. The guys who won the USSOCOM sniper match this year were using Ckye-pods and said that they definitely got a few more points on a couple stages thanks to them. Worth a look considering you're willing to throw down some serious bipod money.
 
Second the Ckye-Pod! I own multiple Harris's, Atlas', a LRA F-Class bipod and a Ckye-Pod.

For all around general use and especially PRS, the Ckye-Pod is the best bipod I've owned and tried.
 
They're right you know! The Harris with a few accessories (as Dave says) is your cheap option, with a lot of people skipping over the Atlas' for competition now in favour of the Cyke Pod as your expensive option. Too bad we don't have a Canadian dealer.
