The CDX-R7 XS is the latest evolution of our long-range shooting platforms. It incorporates most features requested by positional shooting competitors without sacrificing any features an operator needs during field operations. This rifle is equipped with our most recent chassis design; a one-piece lower receiver and fore-end tube carved out of a solid aluminum billet. The fore-end tube features 11 side and 9 bottom M-LOK slots, was lengthened to 15.5″ and was reinforced at critical areas making it our most rigid chassis yet. An optional extra-long NVD bridge is available for a perfect alignment of thermal imaging, night vision devices, Nightforce® prism or “ballistic periscopes” such as the Charlie Tarac®. This rifle is also equipped with our PRO tool-free fully adjustable and foldable buttstock. Will Cadex ever be introducing a right hand bolt, left hand eject, or even left hand actions?

I use an R7 for a bench rifle, and am starting to get an itch to try a right bolt, left eject. Just would seem more natural while shooting off a bench for brass retrieval.

I just placed an order for an R7 XS in 6.5 PRC. I was also sold on the one-piece chassis and extended forend (as compared to the R7 LCP). A tough choice, but certainly no regrets!

This is also my first firearm purchase, too! Really looking forward to receiving. To the Cadex customer service team, thank you for all of your help and assistance this past year that led up to the purchase. Very grateful. We're fortunate to have such an outstanding precision rifle manufacturer so close by - especially in these times!

I own 2 small caliber Cadex rifles in 7 Stars Pro chassis .
This CDX R7 XS looks very similar . A few more M loc slots and an ARCA mount just ahead of the Mag well .
Am eyeing up this newest offering in 300 PRC . R7 XS has the same butt stock that I really enjoy for all of its quick adjustability .
Gives me goose bumps
This one is in 6.5 CM . Its a great shooter as is my 2nd one in 6mm Dasher .

I placed an order for this Newest offering in .300 PRC from local dealer here in Saskatchewan . Delivery estimate is 6 - 8 weeks out before I can wrap my hands around the stock.
Went with the Orange chassis and black action/barrel . Pretty Bright I know
Have all the loading components on hand now and can hardly wait for delivery . Its almost all I can think about .

So far, i've been having a blast with my Cadex in 6.5CM. Solid rifle!

Just took delivery on my new slinger . Looked at the rifle quickly in the store then packed it back up and took it home .
Next morning I unboxed the rifle to install scope and rings and some external weight kits .
First thing I noticed is the bottom of the fore end does not have an integrated ARCA rail Like the 7 STAR chassis and there is no provision for a thumb rest .
I guess my bad for not investigating what this chassis lacks compared to my Cadex 7 Star chassis . bought this rig for the easy adjustable butt stock and thinking it was a longer chassis 7 Star clone .
So now it sits back in the shipping box until I figure out what I am going to do about what I call its short comings . And yes I know I can fit an ARCA rail on the fore end but not sure about thumb rest .
When I purchased the rifle I also picked up the SKI feet for my Cadex Falcon BiPod . The ski feet are very nice and do a great job of tracking straight back then forward after the shot , Used the bipod on my 6.5cm and my 6 Dasher as well as my custom 30 cal with MDT stock that has an integrated ARCA rail. wink wink CADEX
Suggestions welcome and Rig Might be for Sale . New and all tags still attached to trigger guard .

Good observations here, gihisk1. I too had spotted the lack of an integrated ARCA rail on the XS chassis but luckily before purchasing, so I knew it was going to be an extra cost to get one . I ended up getting one with no regrets. Everything locks in solidly, and that extended fore end allows for pretty broad adjustment if needed.

But the lack of thumb rest options was a bummer I didn't notice until afterward. I've tried to use the folding stock hinge protrusion, but I'm finding it a bit too up and back for a natural trigger hand placement - makes me feel like I'm making the finger gun gesture, ironically. Lol. Having a solution to this would be nice, but I didn't seem to find anything aftermarket out there.

Are you using any add-ons at the stock? Like the ELR or bean bag rider? I have the latter, but am not sure about it yet.

I think your thinking is correct , LOL
Most of the information I have gained from the internet is you want the rifle to track straight rearward then forward so you can more easily keep rifle on target and hopefully watch trace of see impacts or misses for followup shots .
Just recently started using a Ryan Chaney 'ELR shooter from the US" Game Changer rear bag that has a simple air bag in the rest . Its heavy and the flat bag ridder stays almost perfectly centred after the shot so follow up rounds are pretty easy to get off .
