CADPAT Camo paint job?

With workmanship like that, I would ask Skullboy if he would do the job for you. That is fantastic looking SB. By the way, no chance that B&L Tactical is for sale is there?

Sorry, I have retired from painting, but I still will give free advice.;) I was one of the first to start painting the digital patterns (The other that I knew of was a refinisher down in the U.S.) so I had to figure out and make stencils on my own.

That B&L scoped rifle is was a customers gun.IIRC, he has at least 9 of those B&Ls and he won't sell any.

Guess I'll have to get some projector film and give it a try.

Isn't the flim kinda thick? How do you smooth out the layers? Also curious what brand of paint and what colors for the temperate cadpat?

The film I used I got from my work and isn't that thick. For larger areas I combined smaller patterns I had cut out.The film follows curves pretty good.I hold the film in place with one hand, or I weight down the edges with small weights.A sharp pointed hobby knife is also useful in holding down parts of the stencil as well.

There are stencil kits available these days( there weren't when I started) but they are pricey.

I personally take greater satisfaction in that I was able to do this all myself.

I used Krylon Camo System spray paint, and Testor Military Model paint.

CADPAT colors are:

-Olive Drab
-Dark Brown (1st Gen.) or Military Brown (2nd Gen.) The newer TW CADPAT uses Military brown which is a redder/pinker brown then the original CADPAT.
-Flat Black
-Zinc Chromate (the lighter green) This is the closest match I could find.

Except for the base coat, everything is sprayed through an airbrush.

Then finish with Excel Colorvision Matte Clear Coat.

SKBY.
