If money was not object and I was in the market for a new target shotgun. It would be for skeet as thats my game. There is only one gun on the market that I would consider.
I have had the good fortune to be able to own and try out many many different makes and models.
At the end of the day, if I were buying a new skeet gun it would be a
New Krieghoff K-80 28" barrels full length briley ultimate ultralites. With ridiculously nice wood.
I would not consider any other gun. I love the feel of the K-80 standard weight, with 28" barrels and tapered rib, I love the 50/50 POI. I love the high rib.
When I look down the barrels of my favourite K-80 I see this nice little mid bead happily nested inside a bigger white one.
All I have to do is to put that white one a little ways ahead of that orange disc, then I pull the perfectly crisp, creep free trigger and the target gets smashed to oblivion.
I like to say it feels like an aircraft carrier between the hands and it swings smooth as silk.
My preference.
Also I really like that hood latch design, it's different. Yes I know it's really based on a remington 32, but heck on of my most cherished shotguns is a remington.
ALL MAKES AND MODELS WILL suffer problems at some point in their lifetimes.
With regular service and maintenance there is not reason any of the quality brands guns could go a season with out a problem.
