Yep it would be useful for loading up a bunch of mags before a range trip. At the range, I will probably use the good old hand loading. They would be especially useful if you are loading Beowulfs.

if you are going to manually load the caddy with ammo, why not just load your mags with ammo

I suppose the idea is for you to store the ammo in the 50 round boxes and them pre-loading them before a big range trip.
