Calgary Canada Post??

On Friday the 8th Canada Post changed their rules on shipping firearms. 8th is the date they circulated their internal memo to their stuff. This is what is causing the problems

I had a rifle dropped off at Canada Post in Langley BC on the 6th and was suppose to show up in southern Alberta on the 11th. The rifle just showed up today but the tracking said it never left Langley. Getting ahold of them earlier this week was the most difficult thing I have ever done and they were beyond unhelpful. In fact they even sent me an email telling me to contact the sender to put in an insurance claim yesterday.

The ‘stupid me’ part is I chose Canada Post instead of the default UPS AND paid more at checkout thinking they would be more reliable/quicker. Lesson learned

UPS is no better, I have multiple items that have been waiting a week+ to make the local truck. If only the depot was open to the public its only 20mins away from me.

I'm on Vancouver Island, i'm waiting for a rifle sized package, the following is the only info when i track it:
Apr. 29 5:31 pm
Item accepted at the Post Office
La Plaine, QC

Originally it said the estimated delivery date was May08th which has now changed to "Expected delivery: Date pending" I put in a service ticket on Monday the 18th... still ZERO movement or updates.

Ordered a shotgun last weekend from Calgary Shooting Centre, item processed early Wednesday morning, and then in transit two hours later. Guess I should have went UPS! I payed for the expedited parcel but apparently that was a waste of money.

I did the same. Based on everyone’s experience in this thread don’t expect it for over 2 weeks.

if it makes you guys feel any better, my package has been "processed" and is sitting awaiting delivery in mississauga ontario for 3 weeks. Canada post just got a wake up call

Update: 13 days and Canada Post gun status still says “item processed “ in Calgary which is what it said 10 days ago....

Well we shouldn't complain cuz we get such a great deal HAHAHAHA. Its run by A Holes like our fearless leader. He is such an inspiration for people to become an A Hole Justin Time.

I spoke with my Canada Post delivery driver today (who was delivering mail on a Sunday) about my parcel being ‘stuck’ in Calgary for over 2 weeks and she said the volume right now is off the charts. She said, for example, Montreal just had 3 tractor trailers full of parcels arrive last week that are just sitting untouched because they just don’t have the staffing to unload them. Craziness

I had a package stuck in Montreal for over two weeks. It was delivered within a day of arriving in Calgary. It sounds like they are dealing with Christmas level volumes, with COVID level staffing.

I just ordered another gun from Cabela’s this time not Calgary Shooting Centre as I thought it shipped out of Winnipeg. I just got a Canada Post shipping notice from Calgary again... oh for f@$k sake!
