Back from setting up our club's booth for the show.

It's wall to wall tables in there. Biggest show I've ever seen.

As for milsurps, here's what a quick run through the aisles turned up, with a number of tables not yet set up.

Half a dozen Ross rifles. A couple of Mk IIs including a presentation example, and the balance Mk IIIs. Several dozen Lee Enfields, from Long Lees through a No. 1 Mk 1 to SMLEs, a 1924 Mk V and lots of No 4s, including one MP-marked. A couple of dozen Garands. A couple of Springfield 1903s. Two Vennie FN49s. Only a couple of French rifles.

Not many military 1911s, but several military Smiths and Lugers.

Which club?

Yeah, BTSA = Buffalo Target Shooters Association.

Didn't see any good K98s, but I am not the best person to judge that particular type. If you want a Lee Enfield though...

What has everyone picked up?

Huge show and huge crowds.

Just got back from this massive event and I must say,, there was a lot of great stuff to look at. A guy could spend a week at this show and still come out thinking it wasn't all looked through.

Needless to say I didn't come across much ammo.. There was a central table where a guy had set up and was selling quite a bit. I ended up purchasing two AE .44 mag boxes for 44 each,,, Not bad for that price and I came across wolverines supply table which had a Ziploc bag of what was supposed to be 70 x .243 rounds for 50 'which I bought' and once home; I counted it to find only 61... still at 50 bucks I am not complaining..

Great show, busy as sin! All Stocked up now on 44 mag..

It followed me home... It looked lonely surrounded by a bunch of sporterized beaters. It will fit nicely with it's old allies, comrades, and even enemy brothers in arms in my cabinet, ageing gracefully as all old soldiers should.

I got a nice LB as well, except mine is only in .22 and dated 1953. I had heard of them but not seen them. It will be a nice fill in my collection of LB dates.

Sorry no photos as I am presently in a hotel room, but I'll post some shots when I get home.

Stamped. It is a smaller font than the usual LB date marking. A dealer who was co-located with my tables brought it to me to ask my thoughts on the value of the rifle, even though it is a put-together. As I looked at some of the minor problems with the rifle, I noticed the small font but couldn't read it..combination of poor indoor lighting and old eyes. I asked him what year it was, and he said he thought that was the serial number. Out came the magnifying glass and sure enough, my suspicions were correct so a deal was struck.

At this point I am not even sure the receiver is scrubbed...it may just be a un-serialised receiver as the usual flat area does not seem to be there. I will be able to check it out better at home.

This is the reason I get a couple tables at the show. I used to get there on Friday morning an hour before the doors would open and with my nose pressed to the glass, watch all the good stuff move back and forth, and then not be available by the time I got in. Now I am in on Thursday and also an hour and a half early on the Friday. I can tell you it's worth every penny.

Depends what you were looking for.........I was disappointed other than picking up a set of used .300 Savage dies with the bullet seater stem /nut missing and a 1/2 box of 123gr Barnes X bullets for the CZ 527 7.62x39 for black bear or moose .There was the same old guns by the same old crowd at silly prices. Was looking for a tang peep sight for a Savage 99 but they cost more than the gun did.Still a day out amongst like minded people.Met "Kate" and she seemed like a nice lady.Harold

Huge turn out, I walked through each aisle twice. But I have to agree with some of the others on here... Same crotchety old vendors slinging their same crotchety old rust rods. A few of the CGN sponsor vendors were represented which was nice. I finally got to lay hands on the new cz958 that wolverine has been developing which was great, I'm really looking forward to it now. I was in the market for a 20 inch mossberg 590, but only found one single 18.5 inch... And it was $200 more than brand new online. Guy wasn't interested in coming down in price even after I showed him the online ad. I guess there is enough business in selling to people who don't know what they are looking at. It was funny knowing that the shooting edge had their Easter sale and we selling russian sks for $150, and down at the gun show they were being sold privately for $350+.

Still, was a great day of looking. Some great knife Booths set up as well.

Went today as a family an had a blast watching their reaction. I did manage to locate a really nice Radom VIS-35 that will be following me home as well as some extra parts for my 0T series Inglis so all in all a really good show this year. So now the long wait till next years show.
