Anyone know of a shop around Calgary that has Norincos? I'm looking for the "Sig" clone specifically. I can buy one off of the sponsors but would like to handle one. have been looking on the EE as well but no luck. Seems like they are everywhere when I'm not looking :)

The Calgary Shooting Centre is bringing in some Norinco rifles and ammo. You might be able to talk them into bringing in pistols...well, worth a try anyway. Considering the price on these guns, I'd risk buying one sight unseen...you could probably resell a nearly new one if you didn't like it.

maaaaaybe Surplus City. Never dealt with them, not sure if they have a brick and mortar store or are just internet sales. None of the other pistol selling shops (WSS, Proline, Edge, Shooting Centre).

Shooters Choice sometimes has Norinco stuff. Out of town, but not too far.

+1 on the buying this model sight unseen. Small risk, small consequence.

Ya i'll prob just order one unseen. Im sure it will go bang each time, and at the price you cant go wrong.

What are you wanting to know with a fondle before buying? Build quality? How it fits your hands?

I had an NP-34 and it was probably 90% of the SIG 228 for 1/3 the price. Fit and finish weren't up to SIG standards, of course, but they weren't terrible, either. DA trigger pull was heavy, but smooth and the SA pull was very decent, less than 5lbs and fairly crisp. It never once jammed or failed to go bang as expected through ~1300 rounds. Accuracy was limited by my shaky hand, certainly acceptable for typical IDPA/plinking type range fun.

^^ thanks very much for the description. That was basically it, just wondering how it felt in my hand and the fit and finish. Now I just have to find one for sale, all the site sponsors seem to be out of stock, I'd even take a used one but haven't seen them on the EE for awhile.

That's because they're so cheap it's nothing to keep around as a backup for one of your buddies to shoot at the range. Just order it, man. What's the worst that could happen. They are dependable, black and ugly.
