Calhoon Bullets. any reviews????

I have heard of these bullets and was just wondering if anyone out there has any experience with them. And where can a guy get them.

James calhoon makes them he is in montana.
My friend from calgary uses them and they are hell on gophers he goes to montana once in a while to get some but I don't know if anyone sells them in Canada.
He makes varmint bullets only from 17 to 22 cal.
I tried some a few years ago I think they were 47gr and they grouped well enough.

Hopefully he has stopped using 22RF empties to form his jackets from.
Always had the firing pin dents on the heel of the bullet which wasn't too good for accuracy. Other than that performance was good on varmints.

I had a a couple of boxes of the 46 grain double hollow points. They are a hollow point jacket with a hollow point lead core to help them expand very quickly. They shot good as long as you didn't push them very fast. I shot them out of my 22-250 and 223 super short and had trouble with them key holeing if pushed fast. The good thing about them is they don't need to to go fast to work good. They are very explosive on gophers and gave no exit holes on coyotes.

They don't like to go over 3000 fps.

I've got a few boxes of cast lead hps I used to use in my 22-250. Never really liked them though as I prefer jacketed....

I have shot a few hundred Calhoon 50 grain DblHP's, through a .223.

Terminal performance is quite spectacular, without pushing them too hard. Inside out gophers, pieces on the fence 20 feet away, kind of thing, if the shot alignment is right.

They are still sold around the gun show circuit. I gotta stock up!

The ones I have are made with jackets, not rimfire cases.
