Caliber and Cartridge

Caliber refers only to the bullet diameter while the cartridge designates the case as well. For instance 7mm is a caliber while 7mmremmag is a cartridge.

You dont' care if you can't tell the difference between cartridge and caliber?

So when you go to buy ammo for a 300 WM for instanc,e you just ask for "30 caliber ammo?" How odd..........

Yep, exactly. It gets to a point where it's just pointless and pedantic. Bullet/cartridge, cartridge/calibre, mag/clip, etc etc. NOBODY CARES. You can understand what's being discussed by context

I have seen people actually fire 300winmag ammunition in a 300 wby because they bought the cheapest 300 magnum ammunition without knowing the difference.Or one fellow that was frustrated when he couldn't chamber 300wby loads in his 300win mag weatherby vanguard rifle. They care now.:D
