I would like some opinions/feed back/experiences on using a caliber/bullet specific optic on a rifle chambered with a different caliber/bullet than it was meant to be on.

More specifically, I'm looking into getting a Burris AR-332 optic for a 9mm AR. One would think that once you have it zero'd to the 9mm rifle, it shouldn't matter. But I would like to know what my fellow CGNer's thoughts and experiences are?

Optics that are calibrated for a certain caliber and load are somewhat dodgy, in my mind. They are set for one set of variables...velocity, bullet weight, weather condition (even if it's just a standard condition). The problem is that some rifles shoot a bit faster, you may change the load, temperature/barometric pressure/elevation can change trajectory, you may have a longer/shorter barrel than the spec rifle...and on and on. They're probably close enough but I'm way too fussy to go with "close enough".
