Call from customs!

Great!

I know what it feels like to have that "special" package arrive! Had the same type of notice from the Post office, and could'nt wait to get off work to go get it. Now you just have to wait for decent weather to try them out....oh ya, after customs finishes dicking around.

:pCustoms canada called and my shiloh 40-65 and 45/70 are in customs.

You got a call from a government agency on a Sunday?

Weird, they only phone me on Mondays to Fridays. Usually between 8 AM and 5 PM.

You must be that certain kind of "special":D

You'll have to get that 40/65 fired up, that is one of the most interesting cartridges out there and in a Shiloh, it should be a real tackdriver. With about 25% less recoil then the 45/70 one should be able to do some good work out to 500yds or more....Ben

I hope to get to the range with you more times this summer.:p We have to get out after some animals as well.:ar15: Nothing like the smell of blackpowder in the outdoors :p

Nothing really entertaining going on up here. Just a little reloading and a nap today.

I just think it's fun to see you contradict yourself on so many posts and lie about everything.:D

So you just "bought" 3 sharps and imported them but your sooooo torn between spending a G note on a 7mm STW over a RUM?

I have ordered a number of Sharps. A Shiloh isnt something that you order and it comes in. I paid for these months ago. The importers waitlist is 5 months. Shiloh's waitlist is 2 years(as per Lucinda last week). Some here that know me know that money isnt an issue for me. This is small stuff compared to the hit I took on the market lol. This is insignificant teensy canolla. I bought 2 guns and sold one scope from members here in the last 2 weeks. Some here will see the sharps so you will be making a fool of yourself yapping like this. I didnt go for the RUM because of kick. I couldnt find a 7mm STW so may go for a Sako 270 wsm. A G note wont buy a new sako 85 with a zeiss scope lil brother. Try 2.5 minimum. If I could find a new Sako 7mm STW I would pick one up. As I have a 7mm wby I spose that I already have something that is close. I want a lighter well made gun and Im not a remington fan. I want a detachable magazine. Im not sure if it is possble to transform a 7mm rem mag sako into a STW. Im very busy with many things on the go so I will try to pick up a 270 wsm. Ill post picks of the Shilohs.

If money is not an option get on the phone with a shop and tell them you want a 7mm STW with a DM thats not a Remington...if you pay they will build it.

Just seems to me alot of these questions can be answered with a simple click on the Google-o-net tool. Tis' my opinion but Im a poduck Ontarian that has to wear orange vests or I'll put my red-dot .30-06 pump on a person. Your 800K stock market loss sucks. But if you still got money to buy Accumarks and Shiloh Sharps then I'd just call a shop or buy a Sako in .270 WSM or something in 7 RUM and shoot it.

I never could understand why people are so concerned about 50-100 fps difference in a gun...but again...poduck.

Good point. Until this year I shot a 25 year old remington pump potting whitetails at 200 yards with crappy tire cartridges. Its basically a diversion. you will find this amusing. Sheep mentioned grizzleys so maybe a 300 wsm makes more sense lol. They should be easy to get and are expected not to kick as much as a regular 300 wsm and may be better with the grizzleys. Dont worry about the market. Its a buying opportunity now. Something like PCS shares will double within 2 years so Im buying a few with good track records and low P/Es. Much of mine was in stable divident paying shares so I expect to do all right long term. I also think that land at the coast may be a good buy soon. Ive had good luck with that. Ill post the picks of the Shilohs when I get them.
