call me crazy,...but I like it..:-)

You have to love them.

I'VE HUNTED MOOSE WITH ONE OF THESE FOR YEARS 700 REM, 300WHBY MAG. Bought mine from Lovett's before they went out of business. I use a handload with 200gr partitions at a touch over 2900fps, it doesn't get any better. This was 2010, range report.

Now that is a good question! I'll bet the barrel stays but a reamer has a close encounter.:p

The 280AI reamer is on ice......I can't stand to look at the lathe in the garage after 10 hours in a real machine shop....:)..I haven't barreled a rifle in quite a few months and I'm not even sure I'll do it again....no real reason to when one can buy nice lightweights and whatever one wants these days....I've a half dozen good "donors" here and they all still have thier barrels in them.....nothing a 280AI can do that a 7mm Rem Mag can't do better, and I have couple very good shooting 700's in 7 Mag....

well,..just remembered,..I have to do at least one more barrel...I have a lefty short 700 and a 7mm tube ordered for my oldest son's lightweight....I'll have to twist that one up when the barrel arrives.....7mm-08 of course..:)
