If Kyle knew his victims were a pedo and wife beater then maybe that argument would hold water, or even if it was his neighborhood but it wasn’t. He literally travelled across state lines with a rifle looking for trouble and anyone that believes otherwise is I think is lying to them selves. Law enforcement and courts are there for a reason. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t but vigilante kids running around with AR’s is always gonna end up in trouble. It’s not up to him to act as law enforcers at anytime. He’s no different than any other child murderer/punk/gangbanger with a gun as far as I’m concerned. I respect your position but I seriously do believe it reflects on us all poorly as gun owners.
I’m not interested in furthering the discourse or getting into a spat, but I would just like to say: You’ve made a dozen or more incorrect statements in this thread regarding the Rittenhouse event, so it’s clear you have watched very little of the trial. The whole trial is available for watching, and I suggest you consume a few hours of it to bring yourself up to speed. I don’t mean that to be insulting, or disrespectful. It’s just that there are SO many things that came up in that trial that have been glossed over by news agencies, in (what I believe to be) an attempt to foster the divide we see here in this very thread.
If you watch the trial, you’ll see that Kyle was in Kenosha for work, and saw the destruction, so came back the next day to help clean up graffiti, etc. Then they visited one of 3 car dealerships that was burned to the ground and spoke with the owner who asked for help deterring rioters from burning down his other 2 dealerships that night (because the police had indicated they would not intervene). So Kyle and his friends tried to help, and also provide first aid as needed. Grosskreutz (the guy that got his arm shot up) even testified that he saw Kyle earlier that night rendering aid to a BLM protester. When a dumpster was set on fire, Kyle grabbed an extinguisher and put it out, which enraged the folks that set the fire, and they began making death threats. He was chased, and while running from rosenbaum was heard yelling “Medic medic friendly friendly friendly” trying to diffuse the situation. When he was cornered and Rosenbaum continued to reach for his gun, he did what had to be done. He did not go to Kenosha looking to kill as the media portrayed. He went to try to help his community and ended up in a bad situation that forced his hands. I respectfully emplore you to watch the trial before adding any further comments to this thread.
