I am building up my 18'' Express to be a Max. The other day I got a IV-s 13'' LOP speed feed stock, and I went to put my Remington R3 recoil pad on the back, but I realized there is no way in hell that its going to fit. Its total different shape, and the R3 is much bigger and sticks over the edge on both sides. But whenever I look on the internet at the 870P Max, and even on the Remington Site it says;

• Davis Speedfeed® IV-s 13" LOP pistol grip stock
• Remington R3 recoil pad

but I can't see how these two would work together? It looks very flush on the remington website. Is there a different size recoil pad that I need to get? Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to change something, get an adapter?

Thanks.

Will post pictures tomorrow when I get my SF 618FA forend.

Just a guess... you probably need to get an R3 Pad designed for the Speedfeed stock. Email speedfeed and ask them for the PT# for the R3Pad for your configuration.

Ya I already gave them a call and the guy was less than helpfull. I sent an e-mail off. Thanks.

I bought mine with 20 rounds through it from a user on these boards. For 80 bucks for the stock I can't complain, but my shoulder was a little tender after 75 rounds and 15 slugs. It has a recoil pad that says, speedfeed on it. My R3 has a big R, and then has Limb Saver, Pat Pending.
