Calling Captain Deadly!-GRAPHIC MAY OFFEND

Went out to my troubled farmer friend's property Monday evening to do some hunting.
This little fella appeared with about 10min left to hunt.He was in the long grass of the hayfield and looking straight at me at 105 yds and I could only see his head (hence the call to Captain Deadly)
Anyway as you can see I took the shot.
.264 WinMag,100g PSP right through his teeth,(actually just above his teeth)took out his palate(sp),continued on through his lower jaw and into his chest.
A head shot was all that was presented to me so I must apologize to the Captain.
Am I to be reprimanded ????

Bad planning Boney. Next time you plan a head shot on a yote you need a lot more than a 264 mag.

Question: That is a small yote. I know maritime yotes are bigger than our western ones, what breed do you have in Ont?

Question: That is a small yote. I know maritime yotes are bigger than our western ones, what breed do you have in Ont?

Ours get to be a pretty good size.I'd say 35-40lbs on average with the odd one going on up to around 55-60lbs.The one in the photo was this years model and wouldn't have weighed 25lbs.

Now where's the Captain? I'd like to know if this head shot rule applies to coyotes?

No,just some brush in the back of my farmer friend's pick-up,and if you look close there are two empty celebratory cans of beer,compliments of the him aswell.

A 130 gr TSX from a 270 does a lot of damage to a coyote mellon. Last fall my son shot one at about 200 yards as it jogged accros a field, he lead it just a bit too much and just about blew it's head clean off.




In case anyone was wondering, we didn't recover the Barnes bullet and yes it did expand.
