I have a BLR, yes that is the correct defnition, because it was made in the later 1970s and has a steel receiver. As the pictures show, it has almost no marks on it. Has a 19 inch barrel and is in 308 Winchester calibre.
I intend to put it on my table this coming weekend at the Kamloops gun show, and don't know what price to put on it.
It is shown with a 2 to 8 power Burris Signature scope and Burris mounts.
What do you think the price should be, with or without the scope?
Would certainly appreciate help from some of you people who have a far better opinion on pricing of these rifles, than I do, to give a price that would seem fair to both buyer and seller.
Not sure why the difference in tone, it was the same background.

Your post seeks expert opinion, but I decided to reply anyway. I think the gentlemen above are a bit conservative. Your rifle would appear to be of FN manufacture (pre-81, Belgian made, steel receiver) and in very good condition. You did not mention the bore, but if it matches the rest of the rifle I think you could reasonably expect to get $550 to $600 with the sling, base, and rings. If you had an extra magazine then add $100, since they are like coin of the realm for this model. Sell the scope separately in any scenario. Just my unqualified opinion. ;)
 
500 is about right.And I would take the scope and rings off,as you will get no more for them.If you can use them it would be to your benefit.Clips are hard to come by,and is the only drawback of these guns.I bought an exellent one for 550,next to new.Good luck with that sale,H4831.It had the Leupold bases and rings.
 
yes, take the scope off and sell separtely, around here one could get $650. easily for that BLR, more likely to see it priced at $700. or more. And if was at the regular gun auction sale place, I shutter to think what one would have to pay for it in order to take it home! Dam, them short action BLR's sure are a purdy thing!

I am on the east coast and around here the steel receiver models sell in the 550 to 600 range when they come up, they are quite well thought of!
