I am new to hunting this year so i have no clue what to look for in the area of calls and such. I figure an Elk call or bugle would be a good investment. What are some of the decent ones out their? Also what about scents? Should I go for the urine scents or the natural ones? Thanks.

Scents may or may not work. I'm sure many will debate this. However, from first hand experience I have found the "Hoochie mama " cow call works like a damn. We were out in the early season and there was a bull feeding about 700 yds out. A couple of hits on the call and he walked right up to about 150 yards.

Unfortuantely it was bow season and not rifle:(

I have relatives in BC that do very well in the 6pt+ bull only season and that is one of the calls that they always use.
