Just wondering what people are using for ellectronic calls
when coyote hunting?
SIR has one that you connect to your own CD or cassett player.
Comes with speaker, battery, amplifier and carry bag.
anyone have this, and is it any good?

Not an electronic call, but has anyone tried the Quaker Boy Screamin' Killar pipes, avail from LeBaron?

I made my own, got the plans off varmint als, but if you can purchase one for under 100 bucks go for it. I found it very difficult to find the items necessary to build it here in Canada. I ended up buying all my parts off ebay. It works great and cost me about $80 total..... Here is a picture of the one I built...

Wow, thanks for the site link to a fantasic site.
A great site for a cheap basterd like myself.
more money left over for ammo.
Sending my daughter to pet store to get
a "weasel ball" today.

I also built two El-cheapo callers like Fartri uses. We picked up the power horn and speaker amp from Radio Shack in Buffalo. Buy a cheap battery powered MP3 player so you can carry spare batteries for cold weather all day use. Down load calls from internet. The caller is loud and we use it for crows and yotes. I think ours cost around $60-70 each?

Did you end up buying the same parts that were suggested or did you make some substitutions?

The small parts were substitutes.... Horn, MP3 player and mini amp, ebay, wires from circuit city and home....

The wiring is very simple, you need one wire 1/8" male plug both ends. one end plugs in the MP3 player and the other end into the in portion of the mini amp.....

Then you need anther wire that has one male 1/8" plug on one end (which plugs into the out part of the mini amp) and the other end of the wire splits into 2 (pos-neg I beleive) and they get solder on to horn wires... You can pick up both wires from circuit city.... There is something about a mono adaptor, not necessary just pick up all wire in stereo format and you are good to go. Good luck...

I downloaded MP3 sounds from Varmint Als and use my cel phone to play them connected to a Ryobi work radio ($35) that has a 'aux' plug to attach the MP3 player. The same site has info on how to build your own as well (as stated above).

I had to download a program to increase the volume so it would be loud enough since the Ryobi doesn't go as loud as the commercial elec. calls.

I haven't tried it yet, but the dog sure freaks out when you play them...

As soon as my .204 Ruger gets here, I'll let you know how it works.

I made one using my Creative Labs MP3 player and a mini amp I bought at Princess Auto for $11. Works great.

If you have an iPod or such a electronic device you should be able to save these cayote calls and add a speaker of some sort to it and you have a compact and effective cayote call.

When you click on the link below scroll down the page until you see the speakers on the left side with the first one being "Group Howl".

THis would definately add more versatility to an electronic call you may already have.

I just bought a set a week ago and haven't had the chance to try them, but they are definitely loud enough to carry a long way.

Don't want to hijack this guy's thread. PM me and let me know what you think of them after you've had a chance to use 'em. Good luck.

Can you put up a pic of this princess Auto mini amp?
I thought about checking with them, after i found out that "the Source" doesnt carry anything like that.
Radio shack in US does , but dont want to bother going that route.
SIR has Prey master at a decent price.

I use a foxpro FX3. It works good, but it was pricey. I havnt really had time in the last couple years to use it, but its always waiting for me when I decide to whack a few yotes
