I got my primers...the right ones this time :p So all I need now is brass and bullets, (and suitable powder) and I am set to reload for my slamfire-in-waiting SKS

For the benefit of the rest of you, Calum was telling me I wanted to get CCI #41 primers for the day I would want to reload for my SKS  I got the #41s only to find out they are small-rifle primers :runaway:

In his defense, it seems there is such a thing as brass in 7.62x39 that has small-rifle pockets. ;)

In any case, regardless of the brass I get, I will be ready :D

So, in summary:

#41 CCI primers are SMALL RIFLE PRIMERS (.223 and some odd 7.62x39...)
#34 CCI primers are LARGE RIFLE PRIMERS (7.62x51, and most of 7.62x39...)

I had to drive to a place in Campbell River which is approx 226KM away, as the store I usually goto in Victoria 90km doesn't believe they exist. (They don't have the Internet)

The store I got them at only had 5 packs left...I bought them all. :D

Now I just need powder.

I think I have too much gun oil.

My Dad gave me a bunch for Christmas. I'm not even done my first bottle.

I have 4.
Does that mean you're giving away gun oil? :D

ok,i've asked this before ,but got no answers.what brass has large primer pocket and what has small p/pocket?

I don't own any 7.62x39 brass yet so I am not sure. I think that Remington has some that uses small rifle pockets.

anyone?
