Merely an observation. You folks must have bigger 'yotes or smaller cattle than out here.
I'm all on board with feeding 'yotes 'Pills', we've just never had an issue with cattle calving and 'yotes.
Mind you, Dad killed them for the hides...so they were a touch scarce around the place ( South across the fence from CFB Suffield ).
I saw 4-5 fixing to pull down a Buck one time. Couldn't help Bambi out as it was just over top ( heading down) of a river valley, driving a pickup pulling a trailer on icy roads... bothers me still.
I'm on the creek now too.
Coyotes just ain't never been a problem around our livestock.
Good job BTW.
Yes I believe our coyotes are bigger than out west. I dont really find too many "kills" from coyotes but they defintely chase and harass new born calves.
All winter long we will see tracks right in the barn yard, sometimes in the barn. They arent hunted hard enough in this area and with so many houses and conservation land around they have lots of spots to hide and breed. The highway is on the other side of the concession so we dont run hounds in this block. Across the road where my dad and uncle have farms we run coyotes all winter with dogs. They are safe on this side of the road and I think they know it lol
This farmer is a really nice guy. Hed give me the shirt of his back if I needed it. Hes always offering me money to pay for my shells. I will not take it, He insists and tries to stick it in my pocket, Then I take out my wallet and try to pay him for giving me permission to hunt LOL He wont take it so it pretty much ends there.
He thinks I'm just doing this solely for helping him out....But really I just like shooting coyotes Lol
