The Campbell River Gun Club held it's first 500yd Marmot /Egg bench shoot on Sunday, October 7. We shot 2 targets each @ 200, 300 & 500yds for score and group. The eggs were shot @ 300yds.
The day started out in the middle of a good West Coast southeaster. Pouring rain and winds gusting up to 50kph. 8 shooters showed up and 10 guns shot, 4 factory and 6 custom. By noon it was time to dry off, warm up and have lunch. Lo and behold, the rain died off, the sun came out but the wind stayed gusty. After lunch the wind played havoc with the 500 yd target with only one really measurable group being shot in custom gun and a couple in factory gun.
7 shooters tried the eggs and after 5 shots for 4 eggs, there was a three way tie with 3 eggs ea. Two shoot-offs followed and then it was a free for all for the remaining eggs. Thanks to River Sportsman, Granlund Firearms and Tyee Marine for their door prize donations and I think, fun was had by all.

Good to see Nobby is still shooting too, he must be around 70+ yrs old now...
and still using his Old Boys Toy (OBT). Way to go Mr. Uno!

Say, what ever happened to his brother-in-law Jimmy Fujita, last I saw him was in 1996 in SD at the HBR Nationals at Don Deckert's place?

Jimmy Fujita is in his 80's now and is retired in Penticton. Nobby sold all of Jimmys guns before the last registration deadline. He doesn't shoot anymore and doesn't have a single gun. It's too bad, Nobby said he was a driving force at the Penticton range.
