The Campbell River Gun Club held its second annual rondyvous this past weekend. The rain held off except for a couple of very minor dribbles and I think everyone attending had a good time. Our moderator Nessy, did an excellent job of cooking 2 turkeys for Thanksgiving dinner not to mention excellent cooking by all the others for this potluck supper. Nessy is in the forground of the photo of people eating.
I included one photo from the shooting trail, but photography was challenging because of low light even though it was 10 am in the morning. The shooting trail is along an old railway grade through a heavily treed area and as last year I thoroughly enjoyed shooting it.

It is a small informal rondyvous and while the weather was cool but comfortable, it is also a damp fall with sporadic threats of rain so most people stayed in tin teepees and chose more conventional clothing.

Nothing special but I did mix the flour, oatmeal and sugar ahead of time then mixed in the margarine in the afternoon. I was quite pleased with the dutch oven which I have only just started using. For things like the crisp which has a "pastry" crust on it, I found you have to be careful how many coals you put on the lid and how long you keep them there. Basically it allows you to cook things that you would normally require a kitchen and an oven for.
