New to reloading and want to be sure of what I am doing. I have a 1,000 pieces of Campro .40 180 grain truncated bullets to load for my Glock 35.
Without any published data for the Campro, I plan on using data from the Hodgdon web site for the Berry's flat point with Wincester 231 powder.
The Berry is as close to the Campro that I can find.

180 GR. BERB FP Winchester 231 .400" 1.125" 4.4 872 26,400 PSI 5.1 984 33,500 PSI

Berry's website does not show dimensions so I can't check overall length to compare

Will I be safe at the starting load of 4.4 grains?

I loaded 4.7 gr of Win 231 with 180 gr bullets into once fired Speer brass for my Jericho. They fired fine, and were a fair bit on the light side. If I remember right, the Hornady book said they would be traveling about 850 fps with that load. I can't see how even less powder would be dangerous.

I am sure other more knowledgeable people will be able to help you more on specific numbers though.

Also, don't be alarmed if the powder only half fills the case either. I know I paniced a bit when I noticed that but the gurus on here all said that way good to go.

yes you will, i generally go by weight only unless i know the bullet size/shape is close to what i'm using. generally load to fit your chamber more then anything else (also take the mag into consideration too)
