CamPro 9mm 115gr Recipe

I am a relatively newbie with reloading and wanted to start with the 9mm and work up to some of my rifle calibres. I have just bought some CamPro 9mm 115gr CMJRN and Hodgson Titegroup, but none of the manuals I have show load data for copper plated bullets. Do I treat these the same as FMJ? Has anyone loaded these before and have recipe information for me?

Also, these will be used in my 92fs. So what OAL would work too?
 
There is a recipe on the label for 115 gr 9mm but as you stated, its for FMJ. A good load for plated is usually the starting load for FMJ or the max for cast. Start out with 4gr at OAL 1.125 and work from there. You can probably shorten that a bit if it wont feed but that is shorter than factory AE FMJ so I'm sure it will work. Thats a good safe length 90% of the time. I would say a MAX charge would be 4.2gr at 1.1" OAL.

For plated bullets, again, they fall in at the low end of FMJ loads. Keep them under 1200fps(Berry Bullets state this) and you are good to go
 
Well I have loaded a dummy round with the new CamPro 115 gr CMJ bullets, but I am not sure if they look right. They chamber alright in my Beretta, but the necks seem to be flared. Did I miss something in the flaring process?

Do you have a caliper?
If not I highly recommend getting one.
Mines a Mastercraft from cantire and works great.
Measure OAL and case mouth diameter then you'll know if your'e good.
It's hard to tell from photos.
If it's off by .001 don't worry about it but anything more are the kind of discrepencies we are able to work with when we have the proper equipment.
 
Nah it's not something you did, the bullet being bigger in diameter then the inside of a resized case will actually resize the case again when you seat it and cause that bit of flare your seeing... Get a Lee factory crimp die if your nervous and run your rounds thru it as a final step with very little actual crimp applied.
 
All mine look exactly like that, and I shot 600 of them this weekend without a problem. There is a name for it, neck stretch i believe but i may be mistaken, and its perfectly normal and the sign of tight seal on the bullet.

By the way OAL looks good and you could even seat a touch deeper and still be safe
 
Oh and i've been loading Berry 124gr plated at 4 gr or titegroup with OAL of 1.135 and they are working GREAT!!! Being as how you are using a 115 gr bullet, if you stick with the OAL you are using in that pic, you can probably work up to 4.6gr or so without trouble, so dont be afraid to experiment. Just watch for flat primers and then back off 0.2gr and you are there
 
I am shooting Campro 124 gr. with 4.0 gr Titegroup. I cronied them at a consistant 1050 -1060 fps putting me in minor power factor.
TREAT THESE BULLETS AS LEAD BULLETS for data.

My OAL is 1.125"

Your "neck flare" looks fine. use a go/no go guage if worried.

Oh and just tried out 5.4 gr of unique with 1.135 OAL, a touch of pressure but you really have to look for it and I gotta say, the sound of it is just cool, so much bassier than titegroup. Sounds like a .40:) And I put 12 through a one inch hole at 7 yards

Before I hyjack your thread lol, it looks like you are on the right track, load up 10 or 20 and go try em out and let us know how it goes. If you dont know about pressure signs post some pics like those and we'll tell ya what we see
