For .45 ACP perhaps. I use it with excellent results for .38 spl and 9mm in various carbines.

Many powders will work. Some will work better in various situations. Unique in 9mm carbines is also excellent and should give higher velocity with lower initial pressure. So it really depends on how you define "excellent".
