Can’t bore sight a GSG-15, muzzle end too small?

I tried to bore sight my new GSG-15 today and the bore sight won’t even fit in the muzzle end. I checked my other .22’s and it fits fine, actually a bit loose until I use the .22 adaptor but it won’t even fit in the muzzle without the adaptors.
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit nervous about firing the first.
Anybody else run into this?

I’m more concerned about how much smaller the barrel is at the muzzle end than bore sighting it. I just started shooting this year so have minimal experience. Is it normal for the muzzle end to be that much smaller than the chamber?

Some 22rf are pretty tight. The .22 adapter you have might be meant for center fires and the rimfire is a couple thousandths smaller.
I had to buy a cleaning rod made for a 17 to get patches through my CZ. It will be fine to fire.

Old school tip: bore sight by looking through the bore. Line it up on sandbags or something similar, look through the bore and point it at something. Then without letting it move look through the sights and see if it's close to the same point. Adjust accordingly.

I wouldn't sweat it, there are wildcat 22lr barrels that choke down gradually to 20 cal and even 17cal.
Colt Canada even uses a mild choke on their 5.56 barrels.

I removed the flash hider and it wouldn’t fit directly into the muzzle. I measured the muzzle and it’s about .004-.006 smaller than 4 other .22’s I have.

Like I said, I’m relatively new to shooting and was unsure how much a barrel can taper before problems arise.

Personally I wouldn't worry about it. Some barrels they choke the muzzle for accuracy reason.

And I wouldn't really trust those muzzle adapter bore sighters anyways.

Do bullets come out the end if so your probably good. As far as bore siting put 1 bullet at 25 yards centre it and and go from there.
If your worried about the cost of 22lr to sight in then I have some bad news......this sport is not cheap : (

I’m not worried about the cost of ammo, every trip to the range is at least 200 rounds and I try to go twice a week.

I only posted this because I didn’t know if I had a problem barrel or not.
I never fired this particular rifle yet and just wanted some reassurance the bullet will exit the barrel without drama.

I couldn't hit anything with the plastic sights that came with my GSG15....it very accurate though with a 4x Norinco scope out to 100m it competes with my CZ's

I put a scope on it and after a few shots was able to zero no problem. If you cant hit paper at 100m fo ti 25 or 50 and then step back out.
