Can’t have too many BCL102 reviews

Great group with that Federal ammo.
I'm sure a BCL hater will be around soon enough to discredit your rifle and shooting ;)

They'll have a hard time doing that. As Jon. also managed a very nice 5 round group at 100 using a 168 reload that is similar to 168 Federal Gold. Plus this is the way AR10 rifles actually shoot. This is what one should expect from a decent AR10.

Nice to see there is a lot of potential in these rifles, i will most likely pick one up when they are available, the only thing holding me back is the preorder.

Weight distribution was mentionned earlier, how is it? Front heavy or overall "heavy"?

The rifle is a little heavy overall, I took the bipod off to reduce the front end a bit but not really that big of a deal. I think it's just time on the rifle. Easy to get accustom to 10, 14, and 16" lighter AR barrels. I run a 16" G36 at work and I'd take the BCL over that. The feel and weight of the G36 sucks so hard.

Very happy with the rifle and look forward to getting out on a couple wolf hunts. On a side note I managed to get my BCM charging handle to fit with a little work and is night and day over the stock handle.

What did you have to do? I have a BCM charging handle aswell, assuming it would be a drop in replacement.

My ears were burning. I believe it was 168 hornady hpbt with 44 grains of varget. Old reloads I had for a bolt gun. I've also since put a trigger tech trigger in. And I did have a witness for this target, and he's on here, although I should post his targets for his m305 and vintage-homage m16 looking rig. Definitely a better rifle shot than me.

I just compared the BCM with the stock charging handles, took a file and slowly worked the front and rear wings on each side. Kept fitting and filing until it slipped in. Any filing marks can't be seen when the handle is installed. Just work it a bit, try fitting it, then file if required. Took 15 minutes.

Thanks... I was surprised as the weather was horrible. But that’s the weather I’ll be out in anyway, so I’m happy. Just need to dial the scope in for it’s recommended ranges and I’ll be good to go. Need to see what cabelas has for a price on this stuff as shipping it from the lower mainland sucks.

My cabelas wants 49.99 plus tax a box ($57) for fgmm 168. I ordered some from irunguns came out to $35ish a box canadian after all shipping and taxes.

That's pretty damn good. I just paid $39.99 per box of 20.. taxes and shipping was $145 for 60 friggin rounds from wanstalls. Still cheaper than Cabelas. I'll have to check out irunguns. Thanks for the info.

when did you order that because it's definitely not that cheap now

September 9th

I ordered 5 boxes and 2 boxes of xm80. I divided the taxes and shipping based on the cost of individual boxes and it was approximately $35. The more you order the cheaper it will be because of the $25 American side shipping. But that’s on for $1 right now so it should be considerably less.

$117 was the cost of the fgmm out of a total order of $145 so 80% of the $25 is $20+117 is 132 USD. Today that is 165 caNadian. The GST was 9.18 and the Canadian shipping was 27.97

So 80% of that is 29.6 plus 165 is approximately 195 divided by 5 boxes is $39. The dollar was a touch stronger when I ordered I remember calculating to $35ish before

Still beats 40-50 a box before tax and shipping. And again the &25 gets diluted very quickly the more you order as those 5 boxes were $4 US each in American side shipping. Plus if you order before New Year’s Day that charge is all but gone

Federal GMM 168's are the most accurate ammo in every gun that I've ever used, seen or heard of.

Actually in my bolt gun 178AMAX was a more accurate round but 168 HPBT was excellent too and easier to find locally.
If I ended up with a BCL I’d want to try the 178s. I wonder about how COAL will go mag feeding.
