Can 9mm defeat IIIA body armor?

I did a lot of testing on Level IIA soft armour and some 9mm would penetrate while others wouldn't. It greatly depended on bullet shape and velocity. A pointed or round nose bullet will if it is driven fast enough. The sharper the point, the easier it will penetrate the kevlar sheets.

So the only one that went through is illegal armour piercing ammo we can't get anyway...

So we can't get that ammo, can we get those plates? Don't think I'd buy them, but just wondering on the legality.

Legally you can own them in Ontario, whether the company ships to Canada is another question. I do know that w ww.clearballistics.com ships to Canada if you want some ballistics gel.

the AR500 plates that alot of the youtubers were review the last couple months seem to hold up really good. i'd be curious to see how the 9mm steel round would work against it, also how a 50 cal spire point would work against it.

I don't think those 9mm rounds would even put a dent in AR500

So unless you are military or a cop or possibly a terrorist, why are you interested in what round defeats body armour? It is crap like this that makes the non gun owners (the majority) concerned about gun owners as a group

i have no interest in owning an electric car; however i still read about them. I dont plan on heading to Africa hunting, but i still read about it and watch youtube videos. anti-hunters are not going to like it.

hopefully.... on a GUN forum.. the majority of users will be gun owners.......................

I have been a gun owner for 45 years...just question why people would want vest piercing rounds and what their intended application for these rounds is...and yes I own all types, black rifles, handguns the works..but i guess if you are an end of the world nutter waiting in your underground bunker, then maybe something you think you need.

I saw it as more of an inquisitive look at how effective AP ammo really is, and learned that it appears to work as advertised. I, like most gun enthusiasts, see the vast majority of gun owners as normal, level headed, non threatening people. Why look at it in a negative light?

i question why you question us questioning what rounds will go through armour. the reason guns even exist is because people question things. along with military testing these things, people testing things at home might help design a better material to stop bullets or better bullet shape/material to penetrate enemy armour. pretty sure i saw body armour on the terrorists in paris.

Although I really have no use or most likely wouldn't purchase these items, I'm interested in the subject. To be honest, I don't understand the different grades of armour and piercing rounds anyway.

(To answer the posed question up there).
