Can 9mm defeat IIIA body armor?

The last time I checked, information was not illegal and there was no such thing as a "thought crime" in Canada. People are interested in these things because they are interesting. Many years ago I became interested in a topic that is otherwise illegal in Canada. Yet I persevered and now I own a company designing and making those same devices.

Ignorance is the real crime here and the perpetuation of ignorance by the frightened and ignorant is the real issue.

I somewhat recall the post you put up many years ago. Your testing consisted of placing a vest against a piece of wood and shooting it. I wouldn't call any of the conclusions accurate or indicative of actual bullet performance.

Uhhh NO. The vest was supported by wet phone books, which have a consistency not unlike flesh.

In my testing, bullets would either blow right through the vest or they would be stopped in the first few layers. There was not much in between those extremes. I think only one bullet partially penetrated the vest.

Being a gun owner for 45 years is not an argument here unfortunatly, it may actually say a lot of yourself combined with your previous comments. I find your last comment out of place, i like to see instructional videos and am not an end of the world nutter like you say. I call BS on your black rifle comment, i bet you have wood/steel bolt actions and 12 gauges. Oh wait, does a synthetic 30-06 bolt action count as a black rifle? It's black right?

Russian surplus Tokarov rounds will not penetrate level IIIA. There are 'special threat' plates out there that can stop said designated round but I think they're more marketing per say as level IIIA can stop them already.

Sigh, we really are our own worst enemy. "Need" should have nothing to do with it; a person spending their money how they wish and enjoying themselves responsibly should be no one else's business. You realize this echos the same argument Antis use against .50 BMG, .338 LM and "assault rifles", right?
