Can a Glock be a Precision tool?

Im curious. They work better then most.

However, the 1911's i had were much more accurate. At least from me shooting them.

So I ask, can the Glock be precision, got any pictures of your targets to prove it? Im curious.

accurate in what sense... slow fire in a classic bullseye match ?? or accurate in a speed steel/IPSC/IDPA sense ??

my glocks are more accurate then me.... and believe me 99% of the people here cannot shoot thier guns to the guns inherent accuracy potential.

Accurate in a bullzeye match.

The reason most people shoot 1911's more accurately is because of the single action trigger. It usually takes a little more trigger time on the Glock to shoot it accurately/master the trigger pull.

Glocks is meant to be a service pistol, not a match gun. Still it is (along with most other guns) are capable of better accuracy than most people can produce.

I am able to put 10 shots on target, ( a 6 inch target) at 20 feet, in under a minute. However, they are all over the target, im looking for palm size. Am i asking to much of the gun, or do i just suck.

Aim small miss small. I've seen shooters at 15 feet play off to the races in one shot. If you don't know what off to the races is, turn a piece of coregated cardboard on edge and take turns with a partner trying to be the first to make it cut in half.

You can put round after round into the same hole with a glock if you take the time to master it.

you just suck... trigger control and sight picture are what make ragged hole groups... if you do not have good mastery of the trigger your shooting then it is impossible for you to shoot equally.

comparing a 1911 with a single stage trigger to a glock, is like comparing a precision rifle to a win94, both are equally effective in the hands of people who master them, but a true master can shoot both equally.

take for example a gifted shooter.... pick who you want, leatham, mickelyk, ayoob, anyone really.... i guarentee you they could pick up any gun and outshoot you. because they have mastered trigger control and sight picture.

Hey GG34,

I will throw my .02 cents in on this one. I have a glock 21 (.45 Auto) and actually shoot really well with it. It's a Gen 3 that I have had for 8 years (taking a guess here). I can shoot center mass at a reasonable distance all day, but it's not what I would pick for my bullseye gun; and I have put about 7000 rounds down range.

For the most part, the gun shoots where I point it. But with the glock trigger pull, there is some inconsistency from shot to shot (at least for me). And I will add, I have done no trigger work to this firearm. When I compare it to one of my revolvers, both single and doubler action, their triggers are SOOO much smoother and predictable. Like a said, the glock shoots good, but not bullseye good for me.

I did put after market irridium sights on my glock, which helped alot.

Final answer... Can a glock be precision tool?
Of course! If theres a will theres a way, right! But I don't think that was the manufactures intention/niche. I can make a pinto into a limo too, but it's not what it was set out to be.
