Can a lefthand shooter use a righthand Browning Bar?

Well Suther, you could always abandon your stubborn lefty ways, re- train hard and join the right side..... :)

Man I wish. I'm right handed, but I've got issues with my right eye. I shot right handed when I started, and I'm pretty good with a scoped rifle right handed (better than most of my friends lol) but I can't use iron sights worth a damn with that eye and shotgunning was always a crap shoot too.

I was ribbing you on your politics, but now I understand why you see things clearer on the left side..... :) Just kidding, sorry to hear about your eye issue!
It's amazing what we can adapt to when we have no choice, and also thankfully there are some options for lefties out there.

Given that I bat, golf, and shoot hockey right handed, I bet I could probably make that work easier than not... I've certainly practiced it, but it still feels odd.

We really are warped beings when it come to being right or left handed, so many normal things feel so awkward and wrong on the other side.

As a lefty I have shot dozens of different types of semi-auto's and never had a problem. The only rifles we lefties can't shoot are bullpups.

Lefty friendly but malfunction unfriendly lol

OP I've never shot a BAR, but I shoot semi auto shotguns, 22s, and my sks without issue from the left.

Only thing I don't like is when a gun has a cross bolt safety that isn't reversible. Those are a pain for a lefty IMO.

ever heard of tavor with left hand bolt ...

Shooting some Benelli as a lefty isn’t as easy to hit the X-bolt safety since it is in front of the guard (supernova), but some others are toward the back, so it’s quite a reach and awkward as Suther alluded to. I’ve reversed mine.

Yea, I have one ... the bolt, not the rifle. But such renders the rifle unusable by a righty and thus really it becomes a left handed rifle at that point. Of course there are always exceptions to any rule. The majority of bullpups are not lefty friendly.

My dad is a lefty and use to shoot a BAR with out any issues! I now own that BAR!

Belgium made late 60’s 30-06 open sights walnut stock polished blue steel!! But not the original Browning Automatic Rifle used by the army!
