Can a LR mauser barrel be refit to a SR?

Quick question. Is there enough meat to rethread a large ring 98 barrel to fit it to a small ring receiver?(like a Husqvarna 1600) Don't have 2 barrels in front of me right now to measure and was asked the question. Thanks for any help.

But doesn't everyone thread with 60° for the Mausers these days?
I have a Numerich barrel threaded to 60°. Screws right on good to the SR.

I thread them at 55 degrees but it probably doesn't make any real difference in the scheme of things. When the barrel is torqued on the threads probably deform enough to fit anyway. Regards, Bill
