Can a short .22RF derringer gun be antique

I believe not. Go to antiques and black powder. The conditions for antique status are stickied there. I don't think any handgun that uses .22RF can be classed as antique.
 
Here's a legal definishing:

Handgun is antique if it's (a) "manufactured before 1898 that can discharge only rim-fire cartridges, other than 22 Calibre Short, 22 Calibre Long or 22 Calibre Long Rifle cartridges;"
 
I have a little single shot gate loading .22 that will not take a .22 short so must be for .22 cb's,, how do I go about getting it deregistered? Call the CFO? Any suggestions?? Anybody done it??

My "little gun" has a barrel about the same size as a .22 magnum, laid on top of a Remington .41 derringer it's totally inside the outline.. It's registered as "Unknown Belgian", this guy made a lot of guns cause I've got about four different ones, nice work tho, nickled, wooden grips and will not chamber a fired .22 short case..I can't see anyone making a gun for .22 CB, but?? Any info ?? Would be fatal to mice or large bugs, but other than noise most men would be fairly safe..;)
 
A fellow I knew picked a small homemade .22cal deringer at an antique dealer in Ontario.
thinking it was a little toy for $2 and apparently it was let into Canada and was inspected by Canada customs. It came from Brazil.
He told me that it could never fire. Boy was he suprised when it was able to fire .22s quite well.

Now he has an unregistered PROHIBITED pistol. barrel is 3.2" long.
.. funny thing is that he is very much an NDPer. So I asked him, what he intended to do with it now that the NDP intend to ban handguns.
He looks at me and says,"I am going to keep it",It's too valuable to me.

Maybe its 6mm Flobert they are much shorter than 22short they are also a rim fire and around 22 cal.
