Can a store keep my fully transferred handgun from me

What happened in these instances anyway?

Nothing. The retailer had made a mistake in the description and called before they shipped. I just told them to reverse it and refund me which they did. I did not have to call the CFO to say it was ok.

What is interesting is that without even having to name the store most people here seem to know exactly what store it is and doesn't that say something about Tenda ! Obviously they have a history of pulling crap like this for that to happen

I find it interesting that you haven't answered the many questions of how much extra they want.

Ah, I see now. Still wondering what the extra charge $$ was. Tenda has had an extra charge shipping policy for a long time now but it's never been very expensive for me.

My wife paid an extra $50 shipping insurance fee on a $2000 gun ordered from Tenda. Let’s hope they don't decide to up that price when her transfer gets approved.

I agree with you and that would piss me off too. That being said, choose your battles. If you've much to lose and little to gain perhaps save your soldiers for the next one?

Pay the money!

I recently had a situation where the business had changed their courier from when I previously bought from them and when it came to shipping ammo the new courier could not deliver it to where I lived, so the options where to ship to the courier store front or to pay extra to deliver using a different courier to deliver where I live. I think the extra charges where about $34 dollars and there was no way I was going to drive two hours to pick up the ammo and then two hours back home. This is not the BUSINESS's problem, since they could not have anticipated all the ramifications of changing couriers, since not all couriers have the same area's they can deliver to, also with firearms and ammo it can not be trans-shipped using multiple couriers. This is a case of cutting off your own nose to spite your face!

Well I contacted the CFO in Ontario and they asked the business cfo person to confirm and was told the firearm is in my name and unless I have agreed to reverse the transfer back to the store which I refuse, then Tenda cannot go behind my back refund my money and take my gun back. So ya ! So that was my biggest concern of them going behind my back and stealing my gun. I have no problem fighting them over the money they have decided I owe them because of their changing the shipping method my concern was they threatened to just refund my money and take my gun back and resell it which they cannot do without me agreeing to it :)

I missed the days of customer is always right and the customer is indeed right here.
It's not a matter of how much, it's the principle. I'm totally with you here.

I had a business agreed to sell a gun to me on consignment. When they went to transfer it, they were informed that the gun was transferred back to the store, so it wasn't on consignment. He was like well I agreed to sell it on consignment, so no tax. Saved me near 100$ in taxes.

Business made the change after the deal was made, so they should suck up the costs. Not nickel and dime you.

Good update OP, happy to hear they can't just do whatever they want. Laws the law.

With Glock's 17 now being sold for $1,700 (Wolverine today), I imagine some retailers are having second thoughts.

Should have paid more attention to what Greentips said, he saw it coming.

stop spreading misinformation

wolverine had gen4 and gen 5 G17 for $750~$900 just yesterday.

the $1700 G17 come with a Fab defense chasis and a Red dot

So assuming they still refuse to ship it without the extra money, what's your next move?

Op, if you have all the documentation to prove your case I would pay them what they’re asking for , get the firearm in your possession and then look into a small claims court settlement. That’s if you have the spare time and energy to go through with it. They seem to have lots of time to put you off now so it’s in your best interest to settle things now and then take them to task.

As others have said, they are not just G17's. They are kits that come with chassis, red dot and custom paint jobs.

Pretty uncool to try and trash Wolverine like that. They have been pretty standup about not gouging. They had Glock44's for just under $600 and Gen4 and 5 17's for $750 to $900 yesterday.

Well now that I have confirmed their lies and threats are completely false and they cannot do what they threatened to do unless I comply with their extortion they have a gun not registered to them that they cannot do anything with besides sending it to me, I will have to see how they respond to having me prove they were straight up lying and they cannot do what they threatened to do. So I will wait to see what their next response will be

I'll also stand by that statement as I've personally bought 6 handguns from other retailers since June, and only two of them didn't feel like I was getting gouged.
So a big thank you goes to Wolverine Supplies (online, the big wait list which was absolutely worth it), and The Shooting Edge (in-person).

Basically all of the others, I ordered and then saw for less at other retailers within days or weeks for between $75-$300 less. Just didn't want to risk it though... What a ####ty time.
