Can a store keep my fully transferred handgun from me

Absolutely!
I’ve purchased 3 guns from them in the last few months and they have been stand up guys each time. Fair prices, transfer numbers given no problem. Definitely one of the top dealers.
And if he’s a few thousand miles away…any time he wants doesn’t cut it. He wants tge deal he signed up and paid for. And he wants it now.
Can’t say I know any other gun stores in Toronto that would pull that kind of crap so it was my first guest too.
The customer is always right ended when people started being Karen’s. But I do agree with you. To all the people saying it’s <10$, why doesn’t the retailer just fork over this amount instead of making a molehill into a mountain?

Wow. There are a lot of pushovers on this site eh? I can not believe some people advocate for just paying the difference. You made a deal, if they change it it’s not the same deal anymore, you are getting screwed. It’s a freaking handgun, not life saving medication for his children.
Actually, I just thought about it, doesn’t surprise me at all. There’s a reason why this country has gone the way it has and our firearms “laws” are so terrible. Canadians will literally let people walk all over them and even say thank you after they wipe the #### off their shoes on their backs.

Interesting reading so many divided opinions. I can't believe so many people find it acceptable that a retailer can get away with doing something like this. "Just pay"? Really? I guess the last couple years people just sort of settled for doing as they're told.
Ontario transfers are taking several months and if things dont improve, some people would be looking at a year for a transfer to be completed. With the cost of everything going up, does that allow a retailer to say "well, now we decided that the gun is worth 50% more, so pay the difference"? If the gun and shipping is paid in full (or agreed on "free"), then the deal has been completed. It is on the retailer to ship it and eat the cost.

Thats the problems..there is no ´agreed on free shipping’…at time of purchase.
With the long transfer delays, my guess is the ‘shipping will be established at time of shipping » is more likely the scenario. It may also like ‘dealer reserve the right to change shipping policy anytime’.
The OP should go read or see what the clauses said at the time of buying.
I am sure there is more of this story than just the OP’s position and sayings.

Yes because if its 3 or 5 dollars both parties should be ashamed. So many people not doing ok in this world right now and that would be petty.
You win some you lose some.. At least you CAN get your new purchase... so many great guns on my list I will now never be able to buy. Just pay the difference, get your gun and let off some steam at the range.. then go home and have a beer. Works all the time for me.
The store is in the wrong for not honoring an agreed price at the time of purchase. That being said (which is still no excuse) is that the dealer may have had to switch shipping companies as previously mentioned for a certain reason which is unknown. If you add up the amount of orders with a few dollars on each order it can cost the store big $$$, which again is still no excuse as the original price was agreed upon. By the amount of times the op has been asked the same question of what the amount is and he or she still doesn’t answer tells me it’s probably an embarrassing amount to fight over. I wish I had the amount of time in the day that you have to fight over pennies on the dollar. Quit being stubborn, pay the $9 then tell everyone how they treated you. I’m sure a few people will think twice before buying something off of them because of how you were treated.
