can anybody tell me what cals i can use for hunt in any province

Hunting what? And where?
There are counties and townships in Ontario that don't allow anything greater than .275 calibre(by cartridge name, not the bullet diameter), period and some municipalities say .270. Some counties say nothing greater than .275 for small game only.
The whole calibre restriction thing is silly. Arbitrary decision made by a civil servant with no knowledge of firearms.
Alberta says nothing smaller than .243 for large game. Other Provinces will have their own rules.

His location states Iqaluit. Most provinces have a weight and or diameter regulation of some sort. I don't know about the territories though. I had an Inuit buddy that used a 222 for everything, from foxes to polar bears and everything in between. May he rest in peace. Nice guy to.

I know that in Labrador for barren ground caribou only, 222 in legit for anyone. Makes sense for those truly living off the land, as this does save space/weight in ammunition. Certainly, your friend had all the confidence, of years of polar hunting experience to fall back on. May he RIP.

you realy have to google the hunt reg's in what ever province you want to
hunt in.
Reg's vary too much.
In alot of the southern parts of Ont its a shotgun/muzzle loader
bow only areas for large game.
When big game season is over we can use what ever we want
for small game with the exception of some townships that have caliber restrictions.
Mine, i can use my Garand or Enfield to coyote hunt if i want.
Go figure that one out.
I think its based on the amount of hunters in the bush at one time
versus amount of shots fired.
When deer season is on, its like WW3 in some places.
connor, I am not an expert on Ontario Rules and Regs, but have you tried to find the regs via Google?

As daft as it is, Ontario says any centre fire. Use your .308 with 165 grain hunting bullets and you'll be fine. As long as you're not hunting in the areas with the silly calibre retrictions. Mostly Southwestern Ontario and around TO.
Sasscratchewin is .23 or larger. No FMJ's or non-expanding projectiles on big game.
Yep, We are one big country but we all live by a different set of rules.
In Newfoundland & Labrador ...
For big game (moose, caribou, black bear):
--> rifles larger than .22 calibre with a bullet weight not less than 100 grains or a muzzle energy of less than 1,500 ft/lbs, although you can hunt caribou in Labrador with a .22 centrefire
--> a shotgun 20 guage or larger
--> compound or long bow with at least 20 kg pull at peak draw but no crossbows
For furbearers (wolf, coyote, fox and lynx), under a trapping license:
--> centrefire rifle not greater than .225 calibre or a shotgun using No.2 shot or larger, on the island, and in Labrador, any firearm
--> .22 calibre rimfire if you're dispatching furbearers in traps
Coyotes only:
--> centrefire rifle not greater than .225 calibre or a shotgun using No.2 shot or larger
Small game (grouse, ptarmigan, snowshoe hares):
--> .22 cal rimfire or shotgun
--> compound or long bow with at least 10 kg pull at peak draw but no crossbows

yes but rules change once large game season opens in alot of areas.
You have to check the regs in the WMU (area) you will be hunting in.
In B.C. ammunition to hunt bison must be constructed with
a 175 grain or larger bullet, which retains 2,000ft lbs or more energy at 100 m.
No other restrictions for big game with centerfires in B.C., some animals do require a minimum 20 gauge shotgun though.
In Manitoba all center fire cartridges are legal for big game hunting;other than full metal jacket ammo.Can,t use them nor posses them.Full metal ammo may be used for fr bearing animals like coyotes and foxes Note:regulations change on a regular /annual basis so contact D.N.R.for the latest update.
