I had mine bedded and the bolt handle polished a bit. The checkering could use some work to sharpen it up a bit but like to see a bit of honest use on an old rifle.
Is there an option for a nicer trigger-guard on the market that you know of?

Should be able to make 700 bottom metal fit with a little work. - dan
I'd be more likely to fit it into a 700 BDL stock so as to keep the original stock unaltered.Should be able to make 700 bottom metal fit with a little work. - dan

Does a sourdough offer any advantage over the newer fiber optic front sights? I've never used either with a receiver sight but I did have a 700 front sight filed flat on the top way back when.Add a Lyman receiver sight and a sourdough post front sight; apply 220gr round nose to big critters.
I installed a "fire-sight" set (I think it was called) onto my Ruger 10-22 - so a Williams rear aperture and a red fibre optic front sight - seems to work. Is various height "Tru-glo" brand available on Amazon.ca - I also installed a red coloured fibre optic as front sight on my made-in-1955 Win 94. Is still a yellow/green one left here - all were 0.450" tall - I see there are several even taller for sale on Amazon. A day or two ago I installed a Williams WGRS 54 onto a Browning Lever action .22 rifle - no doubt I will need a taller front sight than came from the factory - I have yet to fire it to see what I get - is probable that is where the yellow/green front sight might end up, if it is tall enough.Does a sourdough offer any advantage over the newer fiber optic front sights? The flat post is much more robust than fiber optics IME , and I prefer to sight them in like “dotting the I” with the target resting on the post. They also look way betterDoes a sourdough offer any advantage over the newer fiber optic front sights?
