Can anyone else see bullets ?

Historically speaking, the Greeks in ancient times asked recruits if they could see one or two stars at the tip on the big dipper. The keen ones could indeed see two as there are two, but only visible to those with the best eyesight. So maybe it's not clairvoyance and you are a candidate for the Hellenic army of 2000 years ago.

I too see shot .22lr through my scope as it travels out to 100 yards. I enjoy it very much.
Now as far as you being Crazy, were going to need more information to make a proper diagnosis:cool:

Back in cadets, I could sometimes make out the grey streak from the adjacent shooter. I don't think I have with supersonic ammo, but the CCI Quiets (710 fps) are distinctly visible with the right lighting
 
Many calibres are able to be spotted on their way down target, it is pretty fun to pick them out!
 
22 lr is easy to see depending on background and lighting. I’ve been able to follow the bullet 200-300 yards before it hits the target. You can really see it’s rainbow trajectory THEN lol

The older I get, the more optimal the lighting conditions have to be.

atv exhaust, cigarette butts, jacket bullets, chainsaws, campfires... all can start fires.

Just ban tracers in the summer.

NRCan is being a bit ridiculous in my opinion.
 
.22 yes .
Sub sonic as well as high speed, but of course it depends a great deal on the light.
At Silverdale the 200 meter range, early morning light, .30-06 flat base jacketed 180 grain at 2680 fps. my shooting partner and I witnessed the vapor trail that looked like rifling and the glint of copper in the center of it as it went towards the target. We only saw a few when the conditions were perfect and we didn't blink, but we saw them.
If memory serves right it was Big Boar I was shooting with that day.:sniper:
 
i can see the 22 CB shorts and my powder-puff handloads out of my 357 BigBoy to around 40 yards then my eyes are too bad to distinguish them in the background. they are only going about 700 fps.
 
I used to shoot subsonic @ 90 yards for hours at a time, every week, every month etc. Anschutz 1450, usually CCI SV or LR HP. (90 yards because of the lay of the land) If there was even decent light, absolutely you'd catch a glimpse of the bullet, seemingly at the top of it's arc. No questioning that's' what it was.

On bright summer days (@ 100 yards) using my .223 wearing some nice glass (Sightron SIII), there are times I swear I'd see a little flash and THINK it might be the bullet. Never thought too much about it, and never asked the question here. I'd fully expect someone to say "dude..no WAY you see a bullet going that fast". lol
