Dog seems a bit of a stretch... never skinned a Dog, but Dad skinned & stretched / dried many 'Coy dogs. Could totally be wrong of course... if you have some information to the contrary... it's welcome of course.

Only looks like cheap leather. Really it's imitation cheap leather! Tough stuff though.

It’s called Kirza, a rubberized canvas leather subsitute. They made boots out of it too.
