Can anyone identify this ammo?

Most (all?) Canadian wartime ammo was non-corrosive, IIRC. In any case, clean as corrosive and you'll never have a problem.

I thought the same thing, but I'm starting to find this may not be the case.

Be safe and treat it as corrosive, unless you want to test it to know for sure.

I suspect its non corrosive, I have a lot of .303 rifle ammo made by Defense Industries during the war, non corrosive.
But like other posters have said, rinse out the barrel with water to be sure and oil it.

Defense Industries (was a division of CIL) ammo was generally not corrosive, I would do a nail test to confirm.

I'm shooting 30-06 DI S.A. Ball ammo from same era with no issues but the 30-06 will have a different primer than your 45ACP stuff.

WW2 ammo made by Dominion Cartridge (DC hs) and Defence Industries (DI hs) had non corrosive primers. Dominion Arsenals (DA hs ) had corrosive primers.
