can anyone identify what model this Parker Hale is?

I have a 1100 (light weight) Safari De Luxe in .308 W

Where are you finding the proof marks ? All I can find on mine is the BNP under a crown on the action, the bolt & and on the barrel.

Serial number is Z - 197XX

Update : Found it under the barrel.

R or H X B
2

So mine looks like a (H)1957 or a (R)1966

Hitzey,
Stock very similar to the top rifle, lighter blonde & has the schnabel fore end but no cross bolt. Mine also has open sights on it.

I could not find it marked Spain. The guy I bought it from said the action was Yugoslavian? What does the 2 under the crossed line indicate?

For a Birmingham Proofed gun, the number at the bottom of the crossed "X" is the viewer code.

Actually, the Safari version was what came before the 1000/1000/1200 etc. the later being "evolutionn" of the Safari, which came very late in the '60's.
So, your rifle is simply a "Safari Deluxe"
As for the action, PH used a very small amount of Yugo actions, and most, if not made on ex-military from WWI war reparation - mostly prior to 1965, were made from actions coming from the Las Coruna (a.k.a. Santa Barbara) arsenal. The "SPAIN" stamp is situated at the left side of the tang, but it was often (hastely) grinded off
They started using the "streamlined" bolt shroud around '65-'66, and the Safari were marked as such on the left side side wall.
