In, approximately, 1986 I bought a pellet gun from Canadian Tire in West Edmonton Mall. This gun was a fairly heavy break barrel that shot .177 pellets but, most importantly, had a 15-20 shot spring loaded tubular magazine above the barrel.

Every time I cocked it, a flat metal piece with a hole in it would rise up, catch a pellet, and lower back down perfectly in line with the bore (kind of like a revolver I guess).

The gun was amazing and I killed so many squirrels, muskrats, snakes, mice, porcupines and grouse I couldn't even count them.

It was sold under the name of RUKO.

I sold it because I... well... I was stupid.

Anyway. Anyone have a clue about this gun?

I have tried to find details so many times but always end up at a dead end. Even Canadian Tire says, "Huh?".

Gamomatic. Have one here minus the loading mech. Think there was an updated model called the Shadowmatic.

The one I have was my BILs. He left it here when he moved south of the border. I have tried off and on to find the replacement parts for the loader but have struck out. Still pretty accurate, just have to single load it.

What about having a reputable gun smith make the parts?

And can you post a pic? Would love to see it!

Thanks Tinner4, seems yours is missing the feed tube, spring etc. But as you said, it operates as a single shot just fine despite this.

Bummer we can't seem to find them any more, some NOS would be AWESOME! I'd buy one!

Yup. Looks like it. You have a lever beside the trigger. Is that a safety? Mine didn't have one, just a trigger. The tube magazine should be easy to make. Just a hollow tube the size to fit .177 pellets with a spring and a follower. It's like a Bear Banger pen but really long and a spring just strong enough to feed them.

Most accurate air rifle I personally have ever shot.

The windage kept moving as it hit branches in the bushes as I was chasing after grouse. I learned to always check it. If it looked off I would reset it by turning it all the way to the left and then, I think, it was 18 clicks back to center. Gamo sold pellets at Canadian Tire in plastic boxes with belt clips. I could always be seen with one of these on my belt and a gun in hand.

Thank for the replies guys. I will see if I can track one down (for the right price).

RUKO does knives. Any ideas on their involvement?

I have not dealt with Ruko for years; import company, they sold everything, I sold a Ruko colt diamondback lookalike 22 revolver, not bad, but no colt, shot guns, 22 rifles ,etc, and of course ever kind of crappy knife.
most of their stuff was made in Brasil

Dont remember that one........ and thats when I use to drool at all the bb/pellet guns, about the time when I got my slavia from home hardware...... the good ol days....lol
