Can anyone tell me anything about this .303 ammo?

IVI ball was used by Army Cadets until the CF turned them into Boy Scouts. Not as accurate as the wartime production ammo we got in the early 80's.
Corrosive or not, we were issued nothing but regular 10W-30 motor oil for cleaning. Never had any rusting issues with it either.

The original specs for the Mark VIII or Mark 8 loading call for a 174-grain boat-tailed bullet at a muzzle velocity of 2550 ft/sec.

Mark VII or 7 has a muzzle velocity of 2440 ft/sec.

Also, standard working pressure for the Mark VII is 18.5 Imperial long tons per square inch, pressure for the Mark 8 or VIII is 1 ton higher, at 19.5 Imperial long tons per square inch.

The Z indicates that the powder is of an extruded type, similar to the IMR series, and that it is NOT Cordite.

An Imperial long ton is 2240 lbs: 20 cwts of 112 pounds each.

Lotsa funs!
